Hi! Nice to meet you.
Check out my shop, Fired Whimsy on ETSY.
I’ve
been working with glass since 2006, though in many ways, my creative journey
began long before that—driven by curiosity, a love of beauty, and the simple
joy of making. What started as a hobby quickly became something more: a
continuous journey of expression and reinvention, guided by the whimsy of the
medium and not taking myself too seriously.
My early days were spent learning
lampworking and jewelry making, captivated by the dance of flame and glass. As
time went on, I found myself expanding into fused glass techniques, stained
glass, and eventually painting, on both glass and paper with watercolor. Each
new technique became a way to stretch my skills, discover new textures, and
deepen my connection to the process of creation.
For many years, I saw myself simply
as a hobbyist—someone who delighted in the experience of creating, collecting
tools, and chasing new techniques. But somewhere along the way, I realized that
what I had built was more than a pastime, it was a body of work, a practice, and
a perspective. The journey transformed me, not just my art. I came to
understand that I am a creative. An
accidental artist, perhaps, but one who is constantly evolving, growing, and
expressing.
My creative process is layered with
texture, transparency, and emotion. Whether I’m working in glass, paint, or
combining the two, I’m always exploring, letting curiosity lead the way and
sometimes going back to the beginning to see how new techniques have informed
my creative process today.
